Mala Sundays / Chorlton Arts Festival

Just a short update on a couple of cool things happening with me lately. First, I’m quite pleased to say that the Bigotes will be back at Mala most Sundays this summer. We played Mala most Sundays throughout last summer and autumn and it became a nice little end to the weekend for us. This year we will be playing the 4-6pm slot and it looks like they’ve expanded their musical offerings on Sundays to basically have different acts on all day. If you’ve been there before, you’ll know it’s a good spot to take root and hang out for a while.

Here are a few videos of the band from a couple of weeks ago that someone was kind enough to send me.

Minor Blues

Troublant Bolero

The other thing I wanted to share is a little clip from a performance I gave a few weeks ago at the Chorlton Arts Festival. I put on a solo show where I wrote and performed and hour of new music to accompany a bunch of animations and other videos. All of the music was written in a couple of months this spring and my idea for the show was that it would be somewhere in between a DJ set and a Clarinet recital. All of the videos were rather psychedelic in nature and I was very pleased with how it turned out. The show was at Dulcimer in Chorlton and I was pleasantly surprised with the crowd that turned out. Here’s a short snip of one of the tunes called Love Theft.
